Where the ideas came from
Lean grew from flow, pull, quality-at-source, small batches, standardized work and continuous improvement. Six Sigma combined quality engineering, statistical control, customer focus, structured projects and organizational roles. Modern practice integrates the two.

Garment factories adapt flow and pull to short style runs while using statistical methods to control measurement, shade, strength and defect variation.
