Learning objectives

• List the evidence required to pass the Measure tollgate.
• Test the gate with a garment measurement-repair scenario.
• Decide which gaps go to Analyze for closure.

Gate evidence

• Detailed map, operational definitions, data-collection plan.
• Sampling strategy and completed MSA (continuous or attribute).
• Descriptive plots, Pareto, baseline DPU/DPMO/FPY.
• Stability view and capability where applicable.
• Updated, evidence-based goal and benefit case.

Garment-factory example

Three lines report high measurement repair; the Measure pack shows agreed definitions, an attribute agreement study exposing inspector disagreement at the boundary, a validated continuous R&R on tapes, and a stratified baseline by line × fabric × shift.

Method

1. Assemble the pack against the checklist.
2. Answer gate questions with data, not opinion.
3. Log outstanding gauge or definition risks for Analyze.
